Let's get this summer started!

The last week of school was crazy!  I was frantically putting together teacher gifts, father's day gifts, cleaning up my classroom, and taking their "Last Day of School" pictures on the front porch!  It was an emotional week, as we said goodbye to Evan's daycare and closed that chapter in our lives.

I'd like to think our little bug grew quite a bit over the past year.  Not only physically, but academically and emotionally too!  We're so proud of him and we're excited for him to start Young 5's in the fall at Farrand!

Sean had a half day on Thursday and on Friday to end his school year!  They had an end of the year party in his class that I wasn't able to make it to, but I know he had fun from all the loot he came home with!  So proud of my soon-to-be 1st grader!  Seriously, time flies by so fast!

Sean made 9 teacher gifts (something for his "specials" teachers and something for his "before care" teachers) that included a $5 gift card each to Dairy King in downtown Plymouth.  We made a chocolate ice cream bar out of construction paper, glue, and a popsicle stick to put the gift card in.  He had a bag of M&M's for the bus driver with a cute little tag.  And his class made a quilt for the teacher where each kid painted a square for the quilt.

For Evan's last day, we brought in bagels and cream cheese for the entire staff from Panera.  I typed up a nice thank you letter that the director shared with the staff and made her cry.  I cried at her response.  And I cried at his last pick-up as we cleaned out his cubby and gave hugs goodbye.  What a big day for him and for us too!

Sean had his school carnival on Thursday evening.  It was rescheduled since on the original date the bounce house company never showed up and didn't answer their calls.  It ended up working out fine, although Thursday evening was really hot!  The kids had a decent time...until Sean lost it.  He didn't win a fish this year, despite his multiple attempts and the line to get a bottled water was really long.  Things just weren't going his way.  But, we met up with his friends towards the end and he was able to salvage the evening.

Earlier in the week both Sean and Evan started new sports for the summer!  Evan is doing t-ball with Scott as the coach.  His first practice went really well - he actually participated and said he had fun!

So cute!!

Sean decided he wanted to try Tae Kwon Do.  We signed him up for one month that included unlimited sessions and the uniform.  His first class went fairly well.  He had a hard time differentiating which foot/hand to use for some of the movements, but his kicks were sweet!  I'm excited to see how much he progresses.

We finished the week off with new hair cuts and packing for our weekend in Baltimore!  We're so ready for this summer!
