Getting our last bit of Christmas cheer in!

The last week of work and school before Christmas was a busy one!  Scott sold his Jeep to the dealership and leased a Jeep Compass!  It was very exciting, as he had the Jeep for about 9 years and we had plenty of issues with it the past year or two.  Oddly enough, I don't have any pictures of his new ride just yet, but he's been loving driving us all around, which is a change!

The boys both had their class parties, pajama day, their PBIS rewards day where they could bring in electronics, and a surprise day off of school because of a water main leak.  Thank God for Grandma and Grandpa, who helped us with babysitting that day.  Whew!

Wednesday night we decided to drive down to Campus Martius to see the tree and ice skate.  It was on my holiday bucket list and we were scheduled to go on Saturday the 8th, but I had all those issues with my neck.  So, Scott said we could go on a random week night.  We picked up Jimmy Johns for dinner to eat in the car, bought our parking earlier in the day on the ParkWhiz app, and everything was very smooth.  I couldn't get over how crowded it was on a Wednesday at 6pm, but we made it work.  The boys did okay, but my feet were killing me in my skates (it felt like I was breaking them in all over again).

I'm so glad we went and I think the boys had fun!

Christmas break started and we had a few things we needed to get done before Christmas.  One was making gingerbread houses!  Oh my gosh, it was a mess, but Evan really got into it.  He decked his house out, while Sean was content decorating for about 10 minutes.  Both turned out good though!

We had booked "Ring the Bell" for that Saturday evening from 6-8pm in the heart of downtown Plymouth.  Me and the boys got dressed up in Christmas gear, played some Christmas music from my phone, and enjoyed thanking everyone for their donations.  The kids helped rake in the money!  It was a great idea to have the kids help out.

Sunday we got the boys haircuts, got our groceries, rearranged the furniture in the living room to be able to set up all the gifts around the tree, and made a last minute decision to head to the Lion's game with Matt and Mindy.  We dropped the boys off in Troy at Nana's house and met Mindy at her house to head down to the game together.  It was really fun, but man...day drinking is tough these days.  I was exhausted and felt overwhelmed with last minute Christmas preparations and cooking.

And just like that, it was Christmas Eve.  We were looking forward to our annual Christmas party at Scott's parents' house with 28 of his family members and Christmas Day with my family at our house.
