10. Double digits. Let that sink in. My baby Sean is 10 years old!
We celebrated his big day in a a couple of different ways with family. We had Scott's family over two weekends before his birthday for a carry-out dinner from Leo's on the patio and a bonfire. It was a chilly night! He enjoyed opening his gifts, having cupcakes and homemade apple pie, and watching an outdoor movie on the big screen (Guardians of the Galaxy)! The adults enjoyed spiked hot cider, beer, and a toasty fire to keep us all warm. It was a fun night!
The night before Sean's birthday we hung up a special birthday banner by his bedroom door and hung up some "Happy Birthday" banners! When he woke up in the morning, Scott ran out to get donuts from Dunkin' Donuts so we could sing. After his class meeting in the morning, Sean and I were off to the airport for his birthday gift: a special birthday trip for me and Sean to celebrate our birthdays (post to follow)!
He's finally into reading and has recently finished all "The Diary of a Wimpy Kid" books and the Desmond Cole Ghost Patrol series. He's moved onto the Haunted Library series. We are still reading Harry Potter together and are on the 7th and final book. I'll be so sad when it's all over! He loves playing Roblox on the iPad and some videogames on our Xbox. On TV he's into Dude Perfect right now on youtube, watched the Jurassic World animated series on Netflix, and finished Bunked on Netflix too.
He's currently wearing a size 10 in pants and a Medium in shirts. His shoes are a 3.5. He won't officially be measured for another two weeks, but he's over 70 lbs. and is over 55" tall. He grew like a weed this summer! He's constantly eating, but running around and staying active to burn all those calories he's eating. His favorite foods are still mac and cheese, pizza, cheeseburgers, and spaghetti and meatballs. But, at least he'll balance it out with lots of fruit and veggies.
I can't get over how mature he seems lately! He's growing up now so fast! Before we know it, he'll be off to middle school with that pre-teen/teenage attitude. I'll enjoy our last few years of his innocence and sweetness!
A very happy 10th birthday to our big guy, Sean! We love him more than he'll ever know.
