This past Sunday, Evan and Sean performed in their music school's spring recital. This was their first recital since they haven't had one because of COVID. Their teachers divided the kids up into two separate recitals lasting about an hour each. Sean and Evan went at 2pm for the first segment (which I think ended up being all the older, more experienced kids). It was held next door to their music school at the Plymouth Arts Council on Sheldon Rd. and M-14.
Evan performed "I don't know" by Ozzy Osbourne and did great! His song was a little over 2 minutes long.
Sean has only been learning the drums since August so he's had less experience than Evan. He would only perform if Evan did a duet with him. They chose "7 Nation Army" by The White Stripes. They did really well, but they're used to looking at each other when they practice so they could nod to each other when it was time to transition in the song. During the recital they couldn't see each other so there was a mistake on a transition. They quickly picked it back up and finished the song.
Nana and Pops came to see the recital. They came back over to our house afterwards for an hour and then we all went to Hermann's in old downtown for dinner. Yum! The kids had fun in the arcade room giving us adults a chance to chat. It was a fun day!
