Thanksgiving 2023

Man, did Thanksgiving and all of November fly by.  I feel like I just wrote the October recap and here we are in December counting down the days to Christmas break.

But, Happy Thanksgiving!

We kicked off Thanksgiving break by already having our tree set up.  It was so nice to have that done!  Scott did a major outdoor clean up and worked on lights outside.  The boys had our old neighbors over for some football out front and man, was Luna happy to see June!  We used our outdoor pizza oven for an early dinner and settled in to watch Planes, Trains, and Automobiles, per tradition.  This year we let the boys join us since it's only language for its rating.  I think they liked it!

Thanksgiving morning was relaxing.  We made cinnamon rolls, scrambled eggs, and bacon to hold us over until dinner.  I did the annual Peloton 45 minute Turkey Burn Ride.  We packed up and headed over to my parents around noon to watch the Lions game.  Unfortunately, they lost.  But, we enjoyed hanging out with family, snacking on appetizers, and waiting for the big meal.  We got some pictures outside.

Dinner was delicious, dessert was had, and we got home around 8pm stuffed and exhausted.

Friday we took the boys to the Henry Ford Museum in the afternoon for a visit.  We watched a short movie about sealife, but it was really boring.  Afterwards, we dropped the boys off at home to fend for themselves for dinner (neither of them wanted to go out) and Scott and I went to Hermann's in old downtown for dinner.  Surprisingly there was no wait!  We met up with Matt, Mindy, and their boys at Bearded Lamb for some beers before heading home.

The rest of the weekend was spent cleaning, organizing, and laying around enjoying a decorated house for the holidays.  Christmas movies and popcorn were had!  It was a productive and fun break!
