Skiing with Evan and the Ice Festival

We are trying to enjoy the winter weather when it's here this year.  I can't get over how mild of a winter it's actually been.  While we had the snow and once we got past the cold days, Evan and I went to Alpine Valley on a Sunday to hit the slopes.  And it was a perfect day on the hills!  We had a blast!

While we had hopes of going to Nubs Nob this upcoming weekend to ski, the temperatures are supposed to be in the high 40's.  So, we are going to cancel our trip and just go up to Scott's parents' lake house in Gladwin mid-winter break and drive up to Otsego Resort for one of the days to ski.  The temps should be much better that weekend!  It's been a weird winter.

Plymouth had their Ice Festival last weekend and it was a difficult year for it with the warmer weather.  The sculptures had started to melt a bit and then refroze at night.  They weren't a clear ice like you'd see if the weather was colder so it was harder to see what some of the sculptures were.  But, we went for a bit, had mini donuts, and grabbed a beer at Bearded Lamb afterwards.
