Christmas 2024

Break finally arrived and I was so thankful that we had a few days off before Christmas Eve.  I spent it baking cookies with Evan, cleaning, and packing for Puerto Rico.  We also didn't have to host Christmas this year so that helped that the house didn't need to be cleaned to that level.  We baked snowball cookies, gingerbread cut-outs, cinnamon pecans, and "crack".

We opted to do mass at Northridge this year and went on Monday the 23rd with Scott's parents.  It wasn't quite the mass I was hoping for, but the music was spectacular.  We had beers at Bearded Lamb and got a carry-out from Hermann's.

Christmas Eve morning I made a french toast casserole with apples that had soaked overnight in the fridge.  It was tasty!  The boys exchanged their gift for each other.  Then, we went to Scott's mom and dad's house at 3pm.  It was super hard to not spoil the surprise trip to Puerto Rico with Pops, but thankfully everyone kept their mouth shut.  We played minute to win it games, which was really fun!  We opened gifts.  We ate a yummy dinner.  It was a nice evening!

The kids didn't put cookies and milk out for Santa this year, since they no longer believe.  It was a little sad.  They were up by 8am ready to come downstairs and open up gifts.  Evan's big gift this year was a guitar he picked out from Guitar Center and Sean's was a 3D printer!  It's always so crazy how fast opening up gifts go by after weeks of shopping, planning, and wrapping.

I made a breakfast casserole in the crockpot overnight and it was okay.  It didn't have a lot of flavor.  We got ready to head over to my parents' house for Christmas dinner.  We opened up gifts over there and had a tasty dinner.  Uncle Ron came, which was nice.  And that was a wrap on Christmas for this year.
