1. This week is crazy busy and considering how tired I am and it's only Tuesday, I'm very concerned with how the rest of this week will go.
2. Scott went to the grocery store for me today after work (that's better than getting flowers in my mind) and I forgot whole wheat bread on the list so it looks like I'll be hitting up Trader Joes on my way home tomorrow.
3. Sean hasn't eaten a vegetable in two days, despite my efforts. Even though that may not seem like a big deal to some, it's a big deal to me.
4. We have his 18 month pictures on Saturday and I have no clue what outfit I want him to wear. Dressy for Easter or Spring casual?
5. I'm also going to a HUGE mom2mom sale in Troy with Trish and I'm on the hunt for a sweet double stroller. I have some pretty high standards here so I'm going in with no expectations.
6. Sometimes I don't realize how much Sean is learning at daycare and it isn't until I ask him a question and he either verbally responds or gestures that I realize he knows some cool stuff! Like most of his body parts...head, tummy, nose, ears, eyes, toes, etc. Wow!
7. My flowers seemed to have survived the two frost advisories over the past two nights. I have to say I'm relieved, otherwise the front yard would be looking pretty boring.
8. Scott is getting a huge wooden play structure with a slide and rock climbing wall from a house that our friend Jeff is demolishing this weekend and I'm really crossing my fingers that the taking apart and rebuilding process works out okay so we can get this for free.
9. I skipped book club tonight and, as much as I wanted to go, I really need some R&R. Going to see the movie on Sunday night after a busy weekend probably didn't help start my week off feeling rested. But, it was worth it!
10. Scott is watching a movie on the blue-ray player, which means I can't watch Bethanny Ever After on my DVR like I had hoped. Sigh...tomorrow is my TV night. I guess I'll read my Pottery Barn Kids catalog that came today and dream about future baby bedding...
And because I can't write a post without a picture...here are my flowers before the frost:

15 Week BumpWatch!
How far along? 15 weeks! I can't believe how fast this is all going by!
Weight gain/loss: Well, after Thursday's appointment...it's official. 10 lbs. Read it and weep. At least I did. I didn't get a lecture from the doc though...he thought it was alright.
Feeling: More and more like myself again! The sciatic nerve pain isn't too bad these days and I've been trying to stay active by taking Sean for a walk every day since the weather has been so nice.
Maternity clothes? You know it. And they are so comfortable.
Sleep: I've got Miguel, the body pillow, out now and I've adjusted really well to sleeping on my sides again. It's not that hard to adjust to that this time around.
Food cravings: I wanted Mexican tonight for dinner, but Scott poo-poo'd that.
Movement? Not much in the past few days, but I've been too busy to sit still long enough to feel something.
What I miss? I just read my friend, Heather's post on facebook about a Margarita from Las Palapas and now I miss those.
Best moment this week: My doctor's appointment of course! It was fun to hear the heartbeat again and they found it right away. And...I got to schedule the anatomy scan! Woo hoo!
What I'm looking forward to: My appointment on Thursday because I'll be able to schedule my appointment for next month's Anatomy Scan! I'm really hoping Scott lets us find out!
Next Appointment: April 19th at 3pm with Dr. Garcia and the big ultrasound!
Milestones: Orange can move amniotic fluid through it's nose and upper respiratory tract to help the lungs develop! It can also move all of it's limbs now and can start to sense light even though it's eyes are still shut. Time to shine the flashlight on my belly!

March's Tropical Weather...
caused all 3 different types of my perennials to bloom all at once. They were supposed to come up at different times in the spring/summer so that something would always be up, but not this year. I guess March's tropical weather that blew in made them all think it was time to come out. While I can't really complain about a sudden break in the temperature and the ability to take Sean outside and to the park, I'm worried about what my front yard will look like come June.
And now the forecast on Monday night is for lows in the 30's. They had better still be standing tall come Tuesday morning...

14.5 Weeks BumpWatch!
This pregnancy |
Pregnancy with Sean at 14 weeks |
Weight gain/loss: Hoping for 5, but feeling more like 10 lbs. It better not be 10 lbs. I'll know on Thursday when I go to the doctor's...
Feeling: Decent. I know this is totally early and weird to be saying this out loud, but I've been feeling some braxton hicks contractions on and off in the past week or so. It kind of freaks me out to think of how many more weeks I have to be feeling them more and more.
Maternity clothes? I've come to terms with the fact that I'm completely in maternity clothes at this point. The full panel seems to be fitting better than the low rise band. The low rise band pants are still too big.
Sleep: It was a rough weekend of sleep since Scott was sick with Strep Throat and I slept in either the guest room or at my parent's house so I didn't catch what he had. But, I broke out "Miguel", the body pillow, last night.
Food cravings: Yesterday at work I went through a 30 minute phase of wanting homemade banana nut bread and then an hour later I thought about homemade rice pudding. Needless to say I haven't had either, but man did they sound good! I broke down and had McDonald's last night for the first time this pregnancy. It was finger lickin' good!
Movement? I'm 99% sure I felt some major flutters yesterday and today! I'm pretty excited!
What I miss? I'm really missing lunch meat still. A co-worker had an awesome looking turkey sandwich today that he toasted in the toaster oven and I would have cut off my left foot for it.
Best moment this week: I had a really great time hanging out with my mom and Sean on Saturday when Scott was sick at home. We took Sean for a hair cut, went to get ice cream, went to a resale shop and found a couple outfits, and went for a walk.
What I'm looking forward to: My appointment on Thursday because I'll be able to schedule my appointment for next month's Anatomy Scan! I'm really hoping Scott lets us find out!
Next Appointment: March 22nd at 3:30pm with Dr. Garcia.
Milestones: Baby lemon can now squint, grimace, pee, possibly suck his/her thumb! Measures about 3 1/2 inches, weighs 1 1/2 ounces, and it's organs are starting to do what they should like it's liver and spleen.

13 Weeks BumpWatch!
How far along? 13 weeks, 1 day. Hello second trimester!
Weight gain/loss: Again...I refuse to step on it...until my next appointment. Still hoping for no more than 5 lbs.
Feeling: Pretty good! ::Knocks on wood:: I even feel in better spirits too. Although, the nice weather might have helped with that.
Maternity clothes? Getting annoyed with all clothes at this point. Nothing. fits. right. at. all. I may resort to leggings this week, which is frightening.
Sleep: Well, if the dog would stop waking me up randomly to scratch her ears I would be sleeping great.
Food cravings: I had the weirdest craving for pepper the other day. I was envisioning pepper on french fries or those salt and pepper chips. Those of you that know me, know I'm not a pepper person. So, this was definitely odd.
Movement? Pretty sure I've been feeling a few flutters here and there this past week. I haven't actually verbalized that to anyone though.
What I miss? Since today was so nice, I'm really missing Leinenkugel Summer Shandy. It's going to be another long summer without those refreshing "adult" beverages.
Best moment this week: Today! The weather was great, we opened the windows, went to the park with Sean, did some major cleaning on things that needed to be cleaned, and had a yummy dinner my mom made us.
What I'm looking forward to: Spring break?! 4 more weeks...
Next Appointment: March 22nd at 3:30pm with Dr. Garcia. I'll be...14.5 weeks I think.
Milestones: I'm feeling confident I felt movement this week so I'd say that's a huge milestone. But, for the little peach...baby has fingerprints this week, is one ounce, 3 inches long, and it's body is now proportionate with it's head. I'm running out of time on convincing Scott to let us find out the sex!! Anyone have any good cards I can play?!

March Madness!
a.k.a time for us to get re-motivated to do some work on the new house. Since Scott's birthday was over, our trip to San Antonio passed, and the weather was getting nicer, I decided to venture out to Home Goods and Bed, Bath, and Beyond to see what I could find for...
I found this mirror at Home Goods for $50! Not bad at all and I think it definitely makes the room complete since that wall was so bare before:
It has a brushed nickel look, which is great because our hardware on the furniture is brushed nickel. But, it's unique because it has flecks of gold in it, which will pick up the gold in the fireplace doors (until we feel like spending $400+ to get new doors).
For the dining room blinds/drapes, I opted to do both! I bought a cordless shade that goes underneath the drapes from Bed, Bath, and Beyond for $24. The drapes and rod are both from Bed, Bath, and Beyond too. Each drape panel was $30 and the rod was $40. Again, I think this really made the room. It looked unfinished for the longest time and it didn't feel much like a dining room despite the table and chairs.
I bought the tiebacks to mount on the wall on each side, but I haven't decided yet if those are really necessary. Thoughts??
Lastly, for the kitchen, we have so much wall space to cover and I'm not quite sure the "look" that I want. I know I don't want a theme like we had going in Clawson. It's pretty hard to find kitchen wall decor without it being wine, coffee, or italian. So, I was excited when I found this oversized fork to put between the microwave and stove. I keep seeing oversized utensils in the kitchen on Pinterest so for $20 from Home Goods, this did the trick.
I think it's pretty cool.
For one of the other walls, I found a corkboard/organizer thing that's actually the exact same color as the cabinets! It has these cute drawers too! It was $40 from Home Goods. I figured I could pin recipes I want to try, coupons, etc. For now it's holding Sean's schedule for March at daycare, our sonogram from Baby Ferstle part dos, and directions for how to care for one of our plants. Super exciting.
Oh! And I got lucky and found a rolling pin for $5 in the same color wood. What a coincidence?! I figured it made the kitchen look more culinary and less like an office with the corkboard.
Next project: The yard. Ughh...dreading this.
- A mirror over the fireplace
- Kitchen wall decor
- Dining room blinds/drapery

12 Weeks BumpWatch!
Feast your eyes on that... |
Weight gain/loss: I'm avoiding the scale until my next appointment on the 22nd. Who knows...
Feeling: I think the nausea is gone for the most part - fingers crossed! The exhaustion is still there, but I'm beginning to wonder if it's just the exhaustion of being a working mama.
Maternity clothes? Still in that awkward in between phase. Maternity clothes are too baggy, but regular clothes don't zip.
Sleep: I finally "caught up" on some sleep this weekend due to Sean sleeping in on Sunday and Scott having a heart and letting me sleep in on Saturday, so I feel okay. I'm starting to dread that in a few short weeks, my nights of sleeping on my back are over. Time to break out my body pillow that we've affectionately named, Miguel. After Miguel Cabrera...
Food cravings: Well, this weekend it was Lucky Charms. ::Runs off to go get a bowl of them now::
Movement? Sometimes I think I felt something, but I'm sure it wasn't the real deal yet. In a few weeks...
What I miss? I'm really having a tough time with the lunch meat this go around. I miss my turkey sandwiches for lunch at work...
Best moment this week: We had a really difficult week. Sean was having a hard time at daycare and was taking his frustrations out on the kids at school, my classes at school were getting on my nerves (so what else is new?!), my dad had surgery, etc. I'd say the best moment was going shopping with my mom on Sunday for some home decor and picking out "big boy" bedding for Sean.
What I'm looking forward to: An easier week at work this week since it's ACT/MME week.
Next Appointment: March 22nd at 3:30pm with Dr. Garcia. I'll be...14.5 weeks I think.
Milestones: It seems weird to think baby is a plum already! I feel like just yesterday it was an apple seed. Things are going to fast this time around...
Ahhh...on a rare moment when Scott was willing to take a picture of me, he caught this:

Fresh out of the oven...
My two culinary goals for the week for Sean included:
I got the recipe from Stacie at Sweet Sunshines of Mine who found it on this website: http://weelicious.com/2008/06/18/baby-frittatas/ . They were super easy to make and turned out pretty good! I'm sure Sean will gobble these up before daycare during the week. Easy breakfast made ahead!
The next thing I accomplished this week was:
I figured this could be divided into small portions and frozen so that it could accompany any meat/fish that Sean has for dinner. And with St. Patty's Day around the corner, it was easy to find fresh cabbage at Trader Joe's. The recipe comes from this book that I used to make most of Sean's baby food:http://www.annabelkarmel.com/bookshop/superfoods-babies-and-children .
Sausage and green pepper frittatas |
Tomato and Asparagus Frittatas |
The next thing I accomplished this week was:
Cheesy Cabbage and Potato O'Gratin |

Happy 17 Months, Sean!
3-1-12: 17 months already!
Looking at this picture, I'm starting to see more of a little boy and less baby. Not to mention that just watching him play and interact either by himself or with others amazes me more and more each day. It's been so fun to watch his mannerisms and try to figure out who he gets that from. He really is Mr. Social!
Favorite toys/activities:

It's been so fun to watch his mannerisms and try to figure out who he gets that from. He really is Mr. Social!
Favorite toys/activities:
- You can tell from this picture that he really enjoys playing peekaboo and hide-and-seek right now! He loves to hide in his circus tent in his playroom and wait for me or Scott to come and find him.
- Books, books, and more books! In fact, I'm regretting organizing them on a shelf, since he loves to take them down one at a time until they are all off the shelf.
- Cars. Of course.
- Bailey! She is such a trooper because lately his favorite thing is to lay on her, throw himself on her, and hit her in the face with his blankie. He thinks all these things are acceptable and comical.
- Elmo. Dear Lord. I don't know how much more I can take showing him Elmo clips on Youtube. Thankfully, he doesn't have the attention span to actually watch the show on TV, so I just have to tolerate short increments on the computer.
- Cooked pears with cinnamon.
- Steamed broccoli with melted cheese.
- Hummus and pita bread.
- Chicken.
- Crackers. Any kind. He even knows where they are in the pantry and stands there pointing saying "Crrrrkkk".
- Elmo
- Ball
- Mama
- Up
- No
- Nose
- Nana
- 18 month clothes. Although he's probably ready to start transitioning into 24 months, but we'll wait until the weather gets warmer.
- Size 4 shoes, but ready to move up when the season is over.
- Size 4 diapers.
- Loving his Whole Milk. Still avoiding juice for the most part.
- Somewhere around 23 lbs. He feels heavier lately...time to break out the baby scale.
