We rushed home from swim class, changed into our Tiger gear, and headed out to Comerica with the sun shining! It was like the cards were in our favor. Great parking spot with a direct walk to the park, walked right up the Tiger and someone offered to take our picture, walked in to the stadium and our seats were in the section right across from the entrance (and mere steps away from the Carousel and food court). Amazing!
Since we didn't have time to eat before going to the game, the boys had grilled hot dogs and Little Ceasars from the park. And then it was game time! Play ball!
We took a break after the fourth inning to go ride the carousel and get some ice cream! While we were walking, Evan saw Mickey! His face was priceless. People stopped to watch his reaction it was so darn cute. Makes me that much more excited for our trip in a few weeks!
The carousel ride was a big hit and Nana and Pops treated the kids to ice cream in souvenir helmets! Yum!
Considering the boys skipped their sacred nap, it got dicey around the seventh inning. We sang, "Take me out to the ballgame" and then they were ready to go. I tried to delay leaving by taking Sean to the gift shop. Of course odds would have it that there were actual Detroit Tigers Legos in the store. I kid you not. We bought Miguel Cabrera that came with 5 accessories for...$18!!!! Ouch.
We left shortly after that and drove to Troy. The kids took a 25 minute snooze in the car and they were up and ready to play at Grandma and Grandpa's house. We grabbed dinner at Rochester Mills and went back for some hot tubbing and baths before heading home. It was a long day, but an absolute blast! Whoever forecasted storms was dead wrong. Thank goodness for that!
I started my Mother's Day this morning with both boys sleeping in due to their lack of naps yesterday. I got to read my book for a bit while the boys cooked me breakfast! They made me some beautiful, handmade gifts and we went for a walk to the park to play before the rain sets in. I can't wait to test out my new fisheye lens (thanks, honey!) later while they nap! It's been a great weekend!! Happy Mother's Day!
