Happy 11th Birthday, Evan!!

Wow - somehow September 2nd came and went and Evan is 11 already!  I can't believe how fast the kids are growing up!

Evan had quite the celebration over several days.  He had a party with friends and baseball teammates earlier in the summer at Castle Gardens Pool Club!  It started out as a cloudy day, but turned out to be quite nice and made for a less crowded pool.  We did snacks and a cookie cake for all his buddies who came!

The week leading up to his birthday, we celebrated his birthday and Mindy's birthday with Scott's family.  Evan wanted a pool party at a hotel and to spend the night with Nana and Pops.  Everyone but Sydney and Josh were able to attend (she had volleyball).  We got pizza and salad for dinner and had Nana's famous ice cream cake for dessert.

On his actual birthday we started with pancakes, like always.  He requested to go to Three Cedars for opening weekend, like always.  It was a beautiful day and the cider mill did not disappoint!

We came back home and he opened gifts.  Transformers was the big thing this year for him!  He got a bunch of transformers, some knock-off Yeezy foam runners, some baseball related things, and fun gifts like Lucky Charms marshmallows and Axe body spray.  He wanted dinner at Texas Roadhouse where he got steak bites and had the staff sing to him and yell "Yee-haw".  Afterwards, we had friends and neighbors over for a bonfire and s'mores.  It was a fun day for him!

The next day we had his last celebration with my parents.  They came over for dinner, which Evan requested pasta and meatballs.  We had a cake made at Heritage Bakery that was Transformers theme and it was delicious!  Evan got a Aaron Judge jersey among other gifts from my parents.

I'd say he had a great birthday this year!

At 11, Evan is in 5th grade this year with Mrs. Nicklay.  He's 4' 10" and seems to be pretty tall for his age, although we'll get the official stats in a week at his well-visit.  He's close to 80lbs and is proud of that.  He's wearing a size 12 in pants and a youth large in shirts.  He's very particular about how things fit so we tend to buy on the bigger size for him.  He's wearing a size 5 in shoes right now too and is loving his new shoes for the fall: Yeezy foam runners and all-white Air Force Ones.

He's still obsessed with baseball!  He's currently playing fall rec ball with GCYBSA and is doing really well back on rec for the fall.  He'll start another year with the Patriots in November when travel starts back up.  He's also trying flag football this fall too for the first time and is on a team with his best friend, Ethan.  They had their first game this past weekend and he played quarterback for a bit.

When he's not busy with sports, he's playing outside with friends, riding his bike, playing MLB The Show on our Xbox, or wasting his time on youtube on his phone.  He's big into Transformers movies right now and still loves some of the classics like The Sandlot or Back to the Future.

Still a picky eater....

Happy 11th birthday, Evan!  We love you!
