Summer in slow motion 2023

Aside from our trip up to the lake house for the 4th of July and two camping trips in Michigan, we enjoyed a slower paced summer at home.  Baseball ended mid-July and we enjoyed our month and a half break from sports and running around.  We took advantage of free movie tickets for teachers and saw a few movies this summer, did the kids bowl free program once a week, and participated in the summer reading program through the library that gave weekly prizes like gift cards to zap zone, gift cards to restaurants, and free Timbits at Tim Hortons.

We spent lots of days at Castle Gardens pool either by ourselves or with friends as our guests.

We volunteered at the Duck Sanctuary in Northville twice since Evan is obsessed with ducks.  He also went to Real Life Farm camp for a week in August and got to bring home two ducklings twice to stay the night at our house that week.  I think it's safe to say that after caring for ducklings and cleaning up after ducks at the sanctuary, Evan no longer wants to own a duck!

We visited the Plymouth Art Festival, went to a good friend's 40th birthday party, went to kids' birthday parties, and spent time with family and friends doing many different things like bike rides or playing games/cards.

We also just enjoyed time as a family, at home together.

It was a great summer!  I'm sad to see it end and see our time together decrease, but I'm also ready for routine and structure and everything fall!  I love fall sports!  I love the fall colors and the yummy fall foods!
