Eric's Fall Visit + U of M Football Game!

This weekend Eric came home from Portland for a short weekend visit!  He flew in on a red-eye Thursday night and got in early Friday morning.  He came over to our house with my parents Friday around 4pm and we sat around catching up for a bit.  Then it was time to try out the new pizza oven he bought me for my birthday outside.  It was awesome!  It runs on wood pellets and the pizzas turned out pretty darn good for the first time using it!

We made hot cider in the crockpot, with Captains of course, and enjoyed an outdoor fire for a bit and then moved inside to have Bumpy Cake and to watch Friday the 13th since it was Friday the 13th!  The boys watched Transformers: Rise of the Beasts in the basement.  Scott didn't make it through the movie, but hey...a Friday night in October...it's tough to stay awake past 9pm.

Saturday we had to be up and out the door early to head to Ann Arbor for the U of M football game.  Unfortunately, the weather was not going to be pleasant.  We packed all the layers with hates and gloves and a spare change of clothes for after the game.  A quick stop at Dunkin' Donuts for some Michigan donuts for the tailgate and we were off.  We got free parking on the street and walked over to my former co-worker's tailgate.  Man, was it elaborate!  A huge breakfast spready of food and a full bar in the back of one of the cars with a bartender.  Fancy!

The marching band came right by the tailgate and we followed them into the game!  Our seats were fantastic - thank you, Eric!  It was a close game in the 1st quarter, but then the Wolverines really took off and kicked some Indiana butt.  We left in the middle of the 4th quarter and headed back to Northville to dry off and get changed.  We had dinner at Brown Dog Barlor and walked around Northville to see the skeletons set up for Halloween.  We went back to our house again for some drinks.

Sunday I had to do a photo session in the morning and Evan had flag football.  My brother and parents ended up coming to his game!  He played quarterback all game and did amazing!  Sean had a game too, but we couldn't go to it because we had to go to Scott's aunt's "Celebration of Life" in Ferndale.  By the time we got home we were all exhausted.  We ordered pizza in and watched the Lions game together.  It was a great weekend and it was sad to say goodbye to Eric!  Although...the next time we see him, we will be in Hawaii!
