Ahhhh!! I have a teenager! How is that possible?! I mean wasn't this just yesterday?!
He had some friends from school over the following Friday night for pizza and cupcakes. They played every sport under the sun outside and I had to drag them in as it started to rain. We watched the new Haunted Mansion on Disney+.
We celebrated the following evening with my parents. We had dinner at Black Rock (the kids loved cooking their own steak!) and came back to our house for gifts, cake, and drinks.
We finally finished all birthday celebrations this past weekend when Scott's family came over for fajitas from Los Tres Amigos, Nana's famous ice cream cake, and to carve pumpkins. It was a lot of fun! 7 pumpkins were carved (Evan did the autobots one on the far left and Sean's was a traditional jack-o-lantern on the far right).
He's still big into playing videogames, especially Fortnite. He's begging to play Call of Duty, but I'm not ready for that yet. We'll see! He's watching The Simpsons every morning before school. He also loves playing football outside with neighbors, exploring in the woods at the end of our street, and playing with his knock-off Legos that are all World War 2 related. He's still very interested in learning about historical events and still aspires to be an archeologist. Indiana Jones is still his hero! In fact, he's being Indiana Jones for Halloween and even had an Indiana Jones themed cake for his birthday with my parents.
He's wearing size 16 pants or Youth XL. He's even fitting into some men's small shirts. He's an 8.5 in shoes. He weighed 105 lbs. at the doctor for his sports physical and he's 5'3" right now. He definitely had a growth spurt this summer and it won't be long until he's taller than me at 5'7". Crazy to think!
Happy 13th birthday, big guy! We love you!
