My parents went all out and bought pavilion tickets to see Sammy Hagar at Pine Knob this summer since Evan is obsessed with Van Halen music. He's been practicing many Van Halen songs the past year and even bought a used EVH guitar at Guitar Center in the spring after saving up for half of it. My parents bought Evan a special shirt for the concert and we each wore concert t-shirts they had from previous tours. We grabbed dinner out in Lake Orion before the show.
We got there early and introduced the boys to tailgating. My dad made us some cocktails and the boys played football in the parking lot.
We went in and walked around. Scott and I hadn't been to Pine Knob in probably...20 years. It was a beautiful evening and I was excited to see a Bacardi area! The boys got concert shirts and some mini donuts and we were off to our seats. Loverboy was the warm-up group. I knew one of their songs, but not any of the others. They did a good job though!
And then it was Sammy Hagar's turn! It was a great show! Evan had listened to the set list for quite a while so he knew every song he did. I think we all enjoyed it! Even Sean...
After the show we found a pizza place still open and enjoyed pizza, chicken strips, and other treats outside on their patio right before they closed. It was a fun night!
