And now...
Favorite toys/activities:
- Still cars! Maybe even more than last time. We buy him a Hot Wheels car every time we go to the grocery store since they're only $1. He has them in my car, in the play room, in his bed room, in the living room...he truly loves cars.
- Trucks! How fitting since he loves cars. He has a Truck book that he loves looking at and always makes us "read" to him. He also loves his big Caterpillar Truck from Jeff and Kristen!
- Books! Especially pictures books this month since he's really starting to say or attempt to say most of the words in them now. He feels so proud when he can flip each page and say one of the words.
- Flashcards! That's right - the teacher in me has flashcards of "basic words" to help him learn the words. He knows quite a few of them and loves getting them out.
- His wagon and BumbleBee car! I'm so glad the weather is turning so that we have been able to get outside and enjoy some of the outdoor toys. He loves going for walks in the wagon since it has a cup holder and lots of views. And he loves the horn on the BumbleBee car.
Favorite foods:
- Apple/Carrot Sauce pouches from Trader Joes
- Mac and cheese
- Cheese omelets
- Broccoli - the kid will even eat it plain
- Black beans
In addition to the ones he already says that were on last month's update, he can now say:
- Hi
- Wagon
- Tummy
- Head
- Dada (finally!)
- Mama (with real consistently now and not just because he wants something)
- Cookie (for Cookie Monster)
- Big bird
- Oscar
- Emma (a friend at school)
- Night night (na-na)
- Baby (and points to my tummy!)
- 18 Months in bottoms and getting into 24 months for tops, although most of his 18 month shirts still fit okay.
- Size 4 shoes, but we bought him size 5 in sandals for the summer and they'll be fine.
- Size 4 diapers and size medium in swim diapers (starting more swim classes this month).
- Drinking only whole milk and water!
- 23.5 lbs. and we'll know his height when we take him in for his well visit on the 10th.
A new category...because the tantrums and acting out has started! We've been battling him biting his "friends" at daycare for the past month. We had hoped it was only because of teething and as of today one of his canine teeth is about to break the gums so I'm still hoping that once those teeth are in, the biting will stop. He's so funny to watch when he's mad because he'll run full speed in any direction and then stop and throw himself on the ground. Sometimes if we take him away from something he wants to do, he'll stiffen his entire body, flail his arms at us, or even try to bite. Come on words...the minute he can express his frustration verbally, then this physical stuff should stop, right?

Because I can't end this update on a negative note, here's my big love bug!
So adorable! Treasure every minute with him; they grow up faster than you think!
ReplyDeleteHe is soo cute. The physical stuff does stop, maybe not for a while yet. But...once they can express themselves verbally, watch out. Aiden has no problem putting me in my place. It's hard not to laugh while I try to tell him to respect Mummy and not shout at me like that. It's hard work, but so much fun, and they are so cute.
