1 Month Old
9 lbs. 4 oz.
21"
Well the first month has been a whirlwind, but not quite as exhausting as Sean's first month. There's something about the second time around that makes you be more calm, more accepting, more experienced. That being said, I think we've been pretty blessed with a smooth month and transition. Sean is taking to his little brother pretty well. He loves talking to him and sharing his toys, but is a little aggressive when it comes to touching him or should I say slapping/hitting/scratching him.
Evan is such an easy going baby. Unless he's got gas or getting a bath, he goes with the flow for the most part. We had a pretty big set-back when we found out Evan has a milk protein allergy and needs me to give up all dairy products for him to nurse and be happy. While it's very hard on me, I'm hoping that this sacrifice will help Evan with his gas and the blood in his stool. On a positive note, here's a few stats and favorites of Evan:
Stats:
- Just switched to a size 1 diaper.
- Wearing newborn clothes and 0-3 months.
- Eats every 2-3 hours during the day, unless we're having a day where he has to nurse every 1.5 hours.
- Eats every 2-4 hours overnight.
- Sleeps great at night. Once he nurses, it's back to bed.
- Gnawing on his hands.
- Staring intensely at things.
- His soothie pacifier every now and again.
- Being swaddled at night.
- Being held in the upright position over one of your shoulders while patting his butt or his back.
- Being bounced around during the dinner hours to the Hit List music on TV...nothing like some David Guetta beats to calm a newborn.
- Laying on his tummy (can you believe it!? A newborn who likes tummy time?)
