August fun!

Man, did August fly by or what?!  And how is it already September 9th?  I feel like September just started.  And with that, of course, our glorious summer ends.  We really had a memorable summer!  We were all very sad to see it come to an end.  And for the first time ever, I wasn't anxious for it to be fall.  I wanted summer to just keep going...

Because who doesn't enjoy going to the beach and the pool to soak up the last few opportunities to swim in the hot sun!

I love that my dad is retired and can join us on a random Tuesday, late August at the pool!  Little did we know it was Grandparent's Day at the pool.  He got in free and all other admission was super cheap too!  Troy Aquatic Center for the win!

What else is there to love about late summer?  Finishing up T-ball and getting ready for fall soccer!  Evan will be on the field this fall and is pretty excited to have his own cleats and shin guards.  His first game is tomorrow afternoon!  I'm excited to see how he does.   Sean has his first game tomorrow too.  Complete with Scott coaching, a referee, rules, and actual positions - including a goalie!  When did he get so big?!

It's also that time of the year where we are frequenting the Farmer's Markets on Saturday mornings and Music in the Park on Wednesday afternoons.  Some of my favorite days were spent on a picnic blanket eating take-out Panera, reading books from the library with my boys while we listened to Music in the Park.

The boys discovered their love for putt-putt golfing this summer.  We spent many hot, hot days out putt-putting.  Or "putt-putty" as Evan called it.  Good thing they whipped through the 18 holes in 30 minutes.  Otherwise, I would have melted in that heat.

But, mostly, I will miss our days at home together.  All four of us under one roof, trying to fill up the day with activities.  Like Snapchat, whiteboards, running errands and getting cookies for being good on those errands, doing arts and crafts (Halloween ones...already?!), and playing.

We're back to the grind this week and the boys are back to school.  Sean had a great first week in Kindergarten and Evan enjoyed his new classroom, Pre-K!  Back to school and kick-off to fall post to follow!  We have a busy weekend ahead of us, so I have a date with the couch and my iPad.  Adios summer!
