Somehow it was our last day at Disney. I mean the trip absolutely flew by! It was definitely bittersweet heading into Magic Kingdom on this day not knowing when we would be back. We had a breakfast reservation at O'hana that we ended up canceling since we planned on being in the park from open to close. We grabbed some breakfast sandwiches at McDonald's and parked valet at Contemporary so we could just walk over to Magic Kingdom. We avoided the TTC and the ferry this time and it was so worth the extra few dollars to valet.
It was sprinkling as we walked in, but by the time we made it to our first ride, it had stopped completely. Not too shabby! We decided to try Astro Orbiter over in Tomorrowland. We didn't get to this ride last time and for some reason the wait is always long. It was still a pretty long 20 minute wait, but we weren't in any hurry today. As we were waiting the Blue Angels flew right over us. It was so cool!
After Astro Orbiter, the boys wanted to ride The Barnstormer again, so we headed over to the edge of Fantasyland. We also rode Under the Sea and got a popcorn refill over by Gaston's Tavern. Which of course meant the boys had to pose like Gaston.
While we walked over to Adventureland we decided to stop at the Sword in the Stone and in front of the castle to get some family photos before the kids messed up their shirts (those Mickey ice cream bars are quite messy!). I don't know why we never thought of trying to get a picture right up in front of the castle and in front of all the crowds, but it was amazing! Everyone was really courteous as they waited their turn and the pictures turned out amazing! So much better than some of the locations on Main Street where the Photo Pass photographers are.
From there we walked over to Adventureland and decided to climb the Swiss Robinson Family Treehouse for a change of pace. It was really neat and gave some cool views of the park from up top the treehouse. We then stood in a long line to ride the Magic Carpets. It's such a fun ride though!
At this point we needed to head over to Frontierland for our first Fastpass of the day, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad. It was Evan's first time on this ride since he was tall enough, so my mom was the only that sat out. I wish they did photos while on this ride, but they didn't. It's not my favorite ride, but I took one for the team.
Afterwards, we did a popcorn refill while in Frontierland (they do an awesome maple flavor that's a cross between caramel corn and kettle corn) and the boys got some ice cream bars. See, told you that would be coming soon! We walked back to the front of the park to see an afternoon show on the stage with Mickey and friends. It was nothing special, so we didn't stay long. We decided to go up to the very front on Main Street and get on the train to take a ride around the park. It was a nice break and I think we all enjoyed it!
While back on Main Street, I managed to cross off a bucket list item. Silhouettes of the boys! There was a bit of a wait, but the boys were content playing with some of their new toys in the shade and even made some friends while they waited. The lady that does the silhouettes is pretty talented! She cut out the outline of the boys in less than 5 minutes and it was really affordable to get two prints and a frame! Win!
It was time for our second Fastpass of the day, Pirates of the Caribbean! The boys were so excited to ride this since it was closed for refurbishment on our last trip. It's always a Karl family favorite, that's for sure! The gift shop was a favorite too and took us quite a bit of time to escape. We decided to do one more ride before our Be Our Guest dinner reservation, so we waited in a 40 minute line for the Haunted Mansion. The line has the best queue with interactive things for the kids to do so the 40 minutes didn't feel like a long wait.
Our Be Our Guest dinner was fantastic! We had an early reservation since I heard that they can get backed up with reservations. Plus, we skipped lunch and just snacked all afternoon so everyone was ready to sit down in air conditioning and have a good meal. Evan got to carry in Lumiere and surprisingly Sean was okay with it. The napkins were rolled up to look like roses and once again, we were seated in the main dining room. We managed to take a tour of the other rooms and even meet the Beast on our way out though!
The Grey Stuff dessert wasn't the same as what they serve at lunch, so it was a little disappointing to me, but Evan sure loved his dessert! That kid...
We did some shopping and pictures on Main Street after dinner to let our food settle before doing a few more rides. Sean even mailed a postcard to his pen-pal, Parker, from Main Street! We bought our last minute souvineers since it was our last night in the parks and I had a few crazy moments getting the boys to do some fun poses with the Photo Pass photographers.
Most rides at this point had a logn wait and since we had one more Fastpass a bit later in the evening, we weren't able to skip the lines. So, we rode the Tomorrowland People Mover one last time, which was really relaxing and the boys loved it! After the ride we saw the Incredibles Dance Party going on so we had to go bust a move for a little bit. Sean got picked on by Mr. Incredible and it was hilarious! Sean's face was priceless. So much fun!
Our very last ride of the trip was the best one in all the parks (in my opinion)! The Seven Dwarfs Mine Ride over in Fantasyland. It was so hard to get this final Fastpass and it made for some tricky plans all afternoon not being able to jump any lines, but the pictures really show how much we enjoyed this ride! My parents went to find a spot for the Wishes Fireworks while we rode this ride and man, they grabbed a great spot!
I knew every single word of the Wishes Fireworks soundtrack and we even witnessed a guy proposing to his girlfriend right next to us! It was such a magical evening and I couldn't imagine a better way to end our Disney vacation!
So long, Magic Kingdom! Until next time!
