A cold, rainy November weekend

After a pretty eventful and exhausting week, we were due for a much more laid back weekend.  Considering it rained the majority of the weekend, we spent most of it inside and did our best to relax and recoup.

I was home Thursday with the boys.  We slept in, washed the "hospital" off of us, and laid around most of the day.  The boys built a monster truck arena in the basement, we watched Madagascar 2, and baked mini banana chocolate chip muffins.  It was a nice day at home.  I got some of the laundry started and the Halloween decor put away.

The boys started their Ninja Warrior Training class at a local gymnastics center the night Sean ate his Hershey bar with almonds.  The boys loved their class and it helped that they had friends in the class!

Evan's on the far right with his head back, swinging around like a monkey.  I can definitely tell they'll be working on their upper body strength in this class.  Lots of stretching and warming up too!  Now, if they can master the warped wall by the end of the month, I'll be really impressed!

Friday, we came home from work and school, made sliders on the grill for dinner, and let the kids play outside for a bit.  They helped Scott get the outdoor Halloween decor down since we were anticipating the rest of the weekend to be wet.  Scott and I started watching Stranger Things on Netflix Friday night after the kids were in bed.  It came highly recommended and did not disappoint!  A cross between E.T. and the X-Files - we loved it!  In fact, we watched it Saturday and Sunday night too and finished season 1.

Saturday morning we took the boys to Dunkin' Donuts on our way to Home Depot for the kid's workshop.  They were building humvees in honor of Veteran's Day this month.  The boys picked that over going to the Henry Ford for $5 admission day!  We did some Halloween clearance shopping, took them to get haircuts, and grocery shopping.  Phew!  What a morning!

Lunch, showers, and some rest and then it was time to head out to Rochester Hills for Brielle's 5th birthday party at Chuck E Cheese.  We all had such a great time!  We hadn't seen these friends in so long.  It was nice to catch up and let's be honest, the games were just as fun for the adults as they were for the kids.  Sean was obsessed with winning tickets.

Sunday, I woke up and ran before more rain came.  Scott made us a nice breakfast while I was out.  We cranked out Sean's homework...math, spelling, and reading.  Then it was time for church.  The boys made some awesome crafts at the kid's Sunday school.  After church, we came home and made lunch and then I took the boys to Target.  They had gift cards they wanted to spend.  It was a madhouse...but we enjoyed getting some costumes for 90% off in the Halloween section!  Sean picked a Little Live Pet with his money and Evan picked a Power Rangers Sword...again.  Football, movies, and pizza were how we spent the rest of the afternoon.

This week we're back to normal.  Well, almost.  I don't have my car back from the shop, so my mother-in-law is letting me continue borrowing hers.  Other than that, no catechism tonight for Sean, but the boys both have Ninja Warriors on Wednesday.  Scott has conferences Wednesday and Thursday night.  It will be a long week I'm sure, but we're getting close to Thanksgiving break...
