That Sunday was Superbowl Sunday and as per tradition, I made a variety of appetizers to munch on during the game. The boys played out in the snow that fell all day and we went sledding mid-afternoon before the game coverage started. It was a nice day home as a family!
I think we were all secretly hoping for a snow day on Monday, but no such luck for any of our three districts in our house. 300 schools called off...but not ours! Instead, my drive in to work was a bit rough. In fact, it was rough every single day that week driving in to work. Luckily, we got our snow day on Friday (post to come next)!
I was out to dinner at Leo's with the boys on Thursday after piano lessons when we started getting the calls that called off school. We definitely knew this was coming, but it was still very exciting! After dinner, the boys had their school skating night at Skatin' Station so we met up with our neighbors and the kids all had a great time! It made it somehow better knowing that they didn't have school the next day...
The snow day was great! A lazy day at home reading books, playing math games on the iPad, playing out in the snow, and watching movies. We hosted our Olympics Opening Ceremony Party that evening with our neighbors and it was a fun night! Pictures and post soon...
The rest of the weekend we tried to get our usual errands done, but the roads were still in real bad shape. We ventured out to Costco and Target Saturday afternoon and spent a painful amount of money. Sunday morning we were off to church to see our niece, Sydney, do her first communion. The roads were bad once again since it was sleeting all Sunday morning. Luckily, we live in the same city. We did brunch at my sister-in-law's house after. It was a really nice morning!
Our four-day work week is flying by as we've been super busy! Scott has basketball playsoff this week and has been coming home late every night. Sean had catechism Monday after school, so that meant we did our bi-weekly McDonald's stop for dinner. They're excited to give out their Valentines to their classes today and to celebrate the 100th day of school tomorrow! Then, we're off to Tucson on Friday! Now to get everything ready for our trip...
