November Updates

I'm one class away from being on our first break from work this school year and emotions are flying high over here!  My classroom tree is up, chili pepper lights are plugged in, and I'm listening to Christmas music.  We don't have any major plans this week aside from Thanksgiving itself, but I'm very much looking forward to being home and spending time with my boys.

November has slowed down a bit for us with fall soccer coming to a close.  We've had a few birthday parties to celebrate and that's been fun, but we've also had time to just lay low on the weekends and I appreciate that a lot.

We voted on voting day and the boys got to have a day off with Scott.

The boys read to a service dog at the library and both did so great!  We can't wait to do it again in February.

We went to The Grinch on opening night after deciding last minute.  We grabbed dinner at Leo's and enjoyed our night at the movies.

I took the boys to Mod Pizza for the first time and it was tasty!  We hit up Target, baked gingerbread cookies, and enjoyed a bonfire later that evening.

We went to Brielle's birthday party at a gymnastics place out in Romeo and visited with Eric and Amy.  The boys were the only boys there, but they had a blast!

Sean and Evan have been enjoying the early snow this year!  Although it was a scramble to have all their winter gear ready for school in time...

We had another birthday party at Athletika for Logan's 8th birthday.  Dinner at Los Tres Amigos first and it was a fun Friday night.

My mom and dad came out to Plymouth for a wine tasting at Vintner's in Canton.  She needed to select the wine she's going to make.  We enjoyed dinner out at Compari's after and a stop at The Post for more drinks.  I think that was the first time the four of us ever went out without the kids.

And finally, we completed the Chocolate Run on Sunday to celebrate Jackie's birthday.  The kids all did the one mile run and their times were amazing!  Kind of wondering if the course wasn't a true mile.  It was a hard race for me for some reason, but I still made it running the whole way.  Bumpy cake at the finish line helped push me along.  We had brunch out at Red Olive, per tradition.  But, this year we also got to celebrate Mindy and Matt's engagement!  Woo hoo!!  A Ferstle wedding is in the plans!

It's been a fun November so far and I'm excited to kick off the holiday season!  My goal is to enjoy the season, be present, say "no" more often, and spend quality time with the kids.  Plus with all this early snow, my goal is to hit the slopes more often this season.
