Matt and Mindy's big day finally came and it was a beautiful weekend! The rehearsal was on Friday at 6pm at Matt's Serbian Orthodox church in Detroit. It was a rush getting everything set and ready, knowing it would be a late night and an early get-up on Saturday, but we pulled it off and even drove Matt and Mindy with us!
Dinner after was at Mr. Paul's Chophouse in Roseville. It was delicious! The boys were daring and tried new things like calamari, different cuts of steak, and king crab! Evan even washed it down with a Shirley Temple! It was a fun evening, but we we didn't get home until 10:30pm!
Saturday morning we all were up and out the door by 8am. I drove the boys to my parents' house so they could hang out and play in the morning. Scott and I went to his parents' house. The bridesmaids were all getting their hair and make-up done at his parents' house and Scott ran errands with his dad. Janet put out a nice spread of food and drinks for us to all have for breakfast. Time flew by!
Before we knew it we were rushing to get our dresses on, the boys were dropped off in their suits, and Scott left with his dad to go to the Pre-Wedding event at the church with the other groomsmen.
The boys were pumped to ride in the party bus! We listened to music and ate some snacks while driving to the church.
The ceremony was 45 minutes and while it was mostly done in Serbian and I didn't understand what was being said, it was beautiful!
After the ceremony, the boys went with my parents back to their house for a bit to unwind. The wedding party drove in the party bus to downtown Pontiac to take pictures outside. Man, it was freezing!
We arrived to the reception hall and had to climb 5 flights of stairs, carrying lots of stuff from the party bus, but the cocktail hour was underway and Mindy gave us her blessing to get a drink and mingle. We were introduced all four of us, the speeches were given, Matt and Mindy had their first dance, and then it was time to party!
The boys made it until about 9:30pm after a very long day! The ice cream bar and their goodie bags made it extra special at the end. Not to mention that Evan's evening was made when he got an opportunity to dance with one of the flower girls (he had a serious crush on her). Sean and AJ were dancing machines! It was so cute to see them dance together.
Scott and stayed until the end and helped clean up. We all stayed at the DoubleTree in Bloomfield Hills. Since it was so late when we arrived, we didn't get to see much of the hotel, but we grabbed breakfast at the restaurant with Scott's family before going to get the boys in Troy on Sunday morning.
We had a great time and her wedding was absolutely beautiful!
