Last week of "homeschool" 2020!

We made it!  All of us!  We survived 13 weeks home together, working, learning, teaching, and doing our best to stay sane.  That's a wrap on this crazy school year and we couldn't be happier!

The boys opted to do all their wrap-up assignments that had them reflecting and writing about their favorite memories from the school year and what they look forward to about next year on Monday so that the rest of the week was just a couple of Webex class calls.

They celebrated by taking a bike ride to the park to play on the playground, playing street hockey with the neighbors and having a squirt gun fight.  I'd say it was a good day!

Tuesday we kept our tradition alive and went to Kensington Metropark to swim at the beach.  We invited Sydney and Adelaide to come with us and enjoyed some Dairy Queen before heading back home.  It was a hot day!

Wednesday Sean got to pick up his materials in a drive through like style at his school.  He got to say goodbye to Ms. Scott and we gave her flowers.  We had a relaxing afternoon since we had some impending storms.  We watched another Pirates of the Caribbean movie and I gave the boys some pedicures with spa music and all.

Luckily the storms weren't as bad as they predicted and we didn't lose power.

Thursday was Evan's turn to say goodbye to his teacher and pick up his materials.  The boys both enjoyed sorting through their stuff and we organized all their school papers and crafts from the year.

Final Webex calls from both of the boys' teachers and my final Zoom staff meeting were the last things to end our school year officially and it's now summer break!  Evan's teacher did an evening call at 7pm where she read them a bedtime story while they were in their pajamas.  It was so hard not to cry.  What a strange end to the year.  Sean's teacher made a 20 minute long slideshow with pictures from the year that had both the boys smiling and laughing.

The boys went over to Grandma and Grandpa's Friday night for their first sleepover since...February.  Scott and I enjoyed a date night where we had dinner and beers on the patio at Ironwood, a quick visit to Matt and Mindy's for a beer on their patio, and home to play "sack in the hole".  It was a fun night!

Happy summer break!!!
