June trip to Gladwin

We had a rare weekend off of baseball, so we jumped at the ability to go up north for a long weekend.  We left on a Thursday after my 1st infusion and Scott's last day of school and made it up in good time.  We made some food at the house and Scott's parents arrived just in time for a boat ride and fishing.  The boys caught two fish each and we all remarked about how it was the best trip out on the boat fishing in a long time.  We played cards back at the house and had the obligatory mini-beers.

Friday started with a nice walk around the neighborhood with Scott.  Everyone went golfing and I enjoyed some time at the house by myself, to read.  Back at the house it was time to enjoy the lake and sunshine.  Evan waterskied and did great!  It was a beautiful afternoon!  Janet cooked and we went out for ice cream.  Of course we had to fish again in the evening, but it wasn't as successful as a fishing trip this time around.  And sadly, Scott dropped his phone in the lake leaning over to put the anchor in the water.  Yikes!

Saturday was another walk around the neighborhood with Scott and then time on the lake.  Later in the afternoon the adults went to Merry-Hearted Cidery for flights and we picked up food from The Hearth for dinner.  The kids love their pizza!  Another fishing trip on the boat in the evening with very few fish caught and cards for the adults.

Sunday, the family golfed again in the morning and we got on the road late afternoon to head home.  We stopped at the outlet mall for some shopping and dinner at A&W.  The boys love their root beer!  We had a great weekend!
