Last day of School and Sean's 8th Grade Graduation!

Wooo!  The school year has come to an end and summer has officially started in our house.  The boys both grew a lot this year in different ways!

They both had great years in school and both finished on the honor roll!  Evan got the hang of middle school pretty quickly, made new friends, and enjoyed trying some new electives.  While he's not going back to band next year, he gave the trumpet a shot this year.

Sean finished Spanish 2 this year and has met his requirements for world language before even going to high school.  He also took LME and learned how to cook a few things.  He had a great season wrestling and also had fun at his 8th grade party!

On the last day of school, East did an 8th grade graduation ceremony at 8:30 in the morning.  It was a little tough to get to with it being the last day of school for me too, but I wouldn't miss this for the world.  AJ was chosen to do a student speech, they awarded a few special awards, and then presented the certificates to the kids.  Sean's class was huge with close to 250 students so it took a bit.  There was a nice slideshow at the end too!

Since it was a half day, Sean opted to go golfing with Scott, Nana, and Pops.  Evan came home and hung out with Jameson.  I brought him home McDonalds for a late lunch after I checked out of work.  And my school did a fabulous Mexican spread for lunch and I was checked out and home by 1pm.  I sunbathed with Luna for a while and then it was time to get ready for Evan's baseball league game.

So happy to be done with work and school!  And I'm excited to see what this summer brings!

Evan's USSSA DO Summer Slam Tournament

Last weekend Evan's team did the AA tournament through USSSA at Canton Sports Center.  There were 10 teams again and they played Friday night at 9pm against Splitfinger.  There was a rain storm that came through and delayed the game a half hour so we hung out inside of Kicker's.  We did not play our best and ended up losing 6-4 and to cap that off I fell coming back from the bathrooms and broke my left foot.

Saturday we played the Rochester Rays and won 7-5 and then played the Midwest Monsters and won 5-0.  Leo pitched a complete game shut out!  Evan also hit a triple!  Because of their two wins, they won their pool and got to move on to bracket play (only the top four teams moved on) on Sunday.

We played on Sunday at 9am against the Ark Rival Knights and ended up winning in a very intense game of back and forth 14-12.  We then played in the championship game at 12:45pm against the Northville Mustangs.  They had beaten us in a championship game earlier in the season, but we absolutely dominated the game and won in a mercy 18-6!  It was so exciting!  DO Summer Slam Champs!  Ranked #7 in the state now!  Let's go, ICE!
