33 Weeks:
How far along? 33 Weeks on the dot! It's been a while...
Weight gain/loss: Up 30 smacking pounds. Still in the "safe range" though...
Feeling: Good! Some random foot pain from the foot I had my stress fracture in last time around, but it doesn't feel broken like last time.
Sleep: I can't complain too much. Sean gets up randomly on some nights and it can take a while for him to go back to bed, but Scott will let me sleep in on those nights so I'm doing alright in the sleep department.
Food cravings: Ice cream! Chocolate shakes!
Movement? Lots of movement and when I rest my arm on my belly when I sit on the couch I get some pretty big kicks, which is exciting considering so many of them are blocked by the placenta.
What I miss? Being able to sleep on my back. I wake up randomly through the night and realize I'm sleeping on my back when I shouldn't be - oops! Old habits die hard.
Best moment this week: Well, it was a busy week with lots of doctor appointments between Sean and I, but it was nice to go to my OB appointment, hear the heartbeat, and grab some lunch at Apotini's in Clawson before picking up Sean from Nana's house. I'm trying to treasure my rare hours of alone time.
What I'm looking forward to: Enjoying the last few weeks as a family of three and the summer vacation before we're back to work....well, Scott's back to work.
Next Appointment: Thursday, August 9th at 10:50am with Dr. Ohm.
Milestones: This week baby weighs a little over 4 pounds and has passed the 17-inch mark. He's rapidly losing that wrinkled,
alien look and his skeleton is hardening. The bones in his skull aren't
fused together, which allows them to move and slightly overlap, thus
making it easier for him to fit through the birth canal.
34 Weeks:
How far along? 34 weeks today! We took these tonight while my parents were here so they could help get some good shots. Thanks guys!
Weight gain/loss: 32 lbs.! Yikes! Looks like it's more likely that I'll be around 38-40 lbs. just like with Sean. Hoping nursing will help get the pounds off like last time...
Feeling: Slow, hot, and tired. I don't know if it was because Sean was up from 2:30-3:30am last night or if the third trimester tiredness has set in, but I feel exhausted. And my patience is short.
Sleep: I'm getting up to go to the bathroom at least once a night, so it's definitely some interrupted sleep. Guess I better get used to that again...
Food cravings: Banana Nut Bread. I need to make that this week. We have some overripe bananas that would be perfect for that.
Movement? I've been so busy trying to get things done this week before Evan's arrival that I haven't had much time to concentrate on his movement, but I'm sure he's his usual jittery self at times.
What I miss? My pre-pregnancy body. Not being a swollen, sweaty mess every day.
Best moment this week: It's been a fun, but busy week! I'd have to say taking Sean to Jungle Java, getting the bounce house up and running, our date night where we went to PF Changs and the movies (thanks Janet!), and spending today with my family!
What I'm looking forward to: My appointment this week and getting Sean's birthday party invitations and signs printed at Staples later this week. I know it's a few weeks early, but I'd rather have them printed and ready.
Next Appointment: This Thursday, the 9th at 10:50am with Dr. Ohm.
Milestones: Evan's central nervous system is maturing and his lungs are continuing to get ready for life on the outside. While I certainly don't want him to be born premature, it's reassuring to know that babies born between weeks 34-37 generally do just fine on their own! Stay put little one...a few more weeks!
Bonus this week: Our maternity pictures my dad took of us tonight off of Hines Drive! I showed him a few ideas I had on Pinterest, gave him a quick tutorial of shooting in Manual, and let Lightroom do the rest. I have to say - he did a fantastic job! The weather held out (stormed 20 minutes after we got back home), Sean cooperated for a few cute pictures, and Scott even agreed to being in a few...
Simply beautiful.
