Class Christmas parties and last minute holiday cheer!

The week leading up to Christmas was as busy as ever!  My to-do list felt never-ending and despite my best plans, there were still gift snafus and last minute runs to the stores for things.  Monday, Sean had Catechism and the 3rd graders were doing the Nativity play.  I had the best laid plans to watch my niece, Sydney, perform the role of Mary, but Evan went back to school that day and by pick-up he was a disaster.  Tired, emotional, and hungry.  I dropped Sean off and stayed home with Evan so he could rest.

Wednesday, I had a co-worker cover my 6th hour so I could go to Sean's Christmas party in his class.  I was so excited that his teacher was doing it in the afternoon (my prep hour is in the afternoon)!  I got to play the fun role of running the photo booth with a Polaroid camera a student brought in.  Two groups in and the thing died.  Good thing I brought my camera.  I took the rest of the pictures, edited them, and sent them to his teacher in the evening.

I had a little time to kill before the end of the school day, so another mother and I went to Barnes and Noble to browse at some books and grab a pop at the cafe.  In the evening the boys had their final Ninja Warriors class for the year.  They had this cute little graduation ceremony and each received a ribbon.  Since Sean has two friends from his school class in the Ninja Warriors class he wants to continue it in January, so we're booked for another month.

Thursday, Sean had his piano lesson and Scott met up with us for dinner afterwards.  And then Friday finally arrived!  Pajama Day at school for the boys, Evan had his pancake/Christmas party in his class that my mom was helping at since I couldn't get out of school, it was my Ugly Sweater Day at work, and all my classes were having Quesadilla parties.  Whew!  By Friday evening, we rolled home exhausted.  Completely wiped out.

Luckily, our Elf Chippy, on his last day at our house decided to leave us popcorn, candy, a movie, and a log for the fire suggesting we spend Friday evening watching a Christmas movie together.  So, a carry-out for dinner and Home Alone 2 on the TV, we were all relaxed and ready to start Christmas break!

Saturday, I woke up early and headed to Kroger to get our grocery shopping out of the way.  It had snowed maybe an inch and was so pretty!  We arranged all the gifts by the tree, did some food prep, and couldn't wait for Christmas Eve!  Mid-afternoon we took the boys bowling to get out of the house and decided to go to Sean O'Callaghan's in Plymouth for Happy Hour appetizers and beers.  It was a really fun day!

With break off to a great start and us ready for the holidays, the boys went to bed excited for Christmas Eve at Nana's house the next day!
