Evan went on his final field trip for the year to the Real Life Farm with the other 3 kindergarten classes. Since it was the day after Memorial Day, I couldn't take the day off of work. Luckily, my mom was able to be a chaperone and go along with him. He rode on the bus with his class, while my mom drove to the farm and met him there.
They rotated through 3 stations at the farm. They went in the barn and got to feed animals, pick them up, and even milk a cow.
Their next station was a hayride through part of the farm. Looks like Evan enjoyed being right up front and center!
Their final station was riding a horse. Evan's teacher, Mrs. Korstjen posed with Evan on his horse for a cute picture. Looks like they had a great time and I'm grateful my mom was able to go with Evan to make him feel special. My darn job got in the way!
Later that week their school put on their annual carnival. Sean had a baseball game, but we decided to let him skip it so he could go to the carnival instead. It was a good decision considering the game ended up being cancelled for field conditions from rain. It rained a bit on and off at the carnival, but we made it work and we all had a great night seeing friends.
The boys loved the inflatables and tried out the new addition this year, the Hungry Hippos. They ran into our neighbors so they ran around with Nevaeh and Jameson for a while before they wanted to try out the dunk tank. Evan dunked Mrs. Ropert, his future kindergarten teacher two times in a row, which had us all by surprise! She yelled, "I'm not going to let you in my class in the fall if you dunk me again."
The boys enjoyed sno-cones, winning goldfish (we gave them away), and entering in the raffle baskets. Sean ran into his best friend, Corey, and spent some time with him outside. At the end of the night they drew the raffle winners and we won one of the biggest baskets donated! It was the one Evan's class put together coincidentally. It included 10 rides at Cyclebar, 1 month at Applied Fitness Solutions, 2 months at Goldfish Swim, 1 session at Lil' Kickers, gift certificates to Dick's Sporting Goods and Buffalo Wild Wings, among many other things. We even got tickets to a Nascar race at the MIS with concert tickets for after. It was very exciting!
