Schools out for summer and a night at Comerica Park!
There you have it! Kindergarten (our last one!) and 2nd grade is in the books for the 2018-2019 school year. The boys were pumped to be done, as were both Scott and I. We all had half days of school and I planned to pick up the boys when they were dismissed. Thankfully I was able to check-out at work and be done in time to get them when they got out. Look how much they've grown in a school year!
We gave the boys' teachers some amazing cookies we bought locally and we hit the road! First up was lunch at Bigalora on the patio since it was such a nice day out.
We ran a few errands, came home and went to the park to play until Scott got home from work, and then it was time to head down to the Tiger's game. Scott got free tickets from his cousin Steve and they were amazing! We went early enough to see some batting practice, but it was the Indians that were warming up. Evan got Shane Beiber's autograph (an Indian's pitcher) and Sean tried to catch balls in the outfield. I got a hot dog and beer (tradition!) and we found our seats. We sat right behind the Tiger's dugout and as the players came into the dugout Sean worked hard at getting a few autographs on his ball. He got Nick Castellanos, Shane Green and another player who we can't read his signature. It was an eventful start to the game!
In case that wasn't enough excitement, as the players came back into the dugout at the end of each inning, they'd throw a ball into our section. Scott caught one and gave it to Evan and then another guy near us caught one and gave it to Sean! The boys had a blast. They shared a slurpee, ate peanuts, rode the carousel, and stayed up to see the fireworks. The Tiger's lost, but Miguel hit a homerun so I was a happy girl! It was one of my favorite family nights of all time.
What a great start to our summer!
