We had a busy end to the school year with field trips, sporting events, and a trip up north. But, in between all those things, we had some fun moments just at home.
It was a very rainy month of May. Lots of sports rescheduling and not a lot of opportunities to be outside, but when the weather cleared up for an evening, the kids were out playing with the neighbors or going to the park as much as possible.
I've been working a lot on...me. Losing weight, running more, new clothes, and new eyebrows. I took a chance and got them tinted at Ulta one day when I had a long break at work before staying late for Graduation. They came out quite dark the first two days, but then...it really started to grow on me. I think I like them!
I took the boys on a long bike ride on Hines Drive and it was the first time Evan made it that far. The hills are always a challenge, but we had a fun time!
Scott built me the most amazing flower boxes for our front porch! I gave him a pin on Pinterest and he made it happen!
More evenings outside with the neighbors. S'mores over a fire celebrating Bubby's birthday.
And we celebrated Bryce's 1st birthday at Amy and Eric's house out in Washington Township with a cute bear theme! It was nice to see our friends that we don't see very often because of how busy we all are and how far apart we live now.
Father's Day came and went too! Scott wasn't interested in doing anything super scheduled on his day, so we gave him donuts and coffee from Dunkin' Donuts for breakfast, went to the new Arbor Brewing Company for a beer late afternoon and tried the new BBQ place for a take-out dinner to end the day. It wasn't the best weather...or the best service where we went, but we dealt with it.
Once school let out, last week our new routine consisted of swim class Monday, Wednesday, and Friday mornings, tutoring for Sean at the library and getting their summer reading prizes, ice cream stops, and playing outside.
We picked strawberries and sugar snap peas on a cloudy day! We made an amazing strawberry cobbler and a strawberry jello pie. No wonder why I gained weight last week...
Evan caught a snake in our yard and took it to the woods! That kid is fearless.
I went to the NKOTB concert with Shelley as a last minute thing. She asked me if I wanted to take her extra ticket and just like that, we went. It was called the Mixtape Tour and it was cool! Tiffany, Salt and Peppa, Naughty by Nature, and Debbie Gibson played in between NKOTB. We had a great time at LCA too!
June comes to a close this weekend and July will be a very exciting month for us! Up north for the fourth of July, Chicago to see Eric and Ana with my parents and the kids, and then me and Scott's trip to Italy and Greece!
