Coronavirus Quarantine Week 7

The weekend brought some nicer weather so we spent a lot of time outside.  I cleaned the first floor then I went for a long run/walk by myself to start my Saturday morning and it was so nice!  I facetimed my mom while I walked through a trail in the woods.  I came home and the boys played a soccer game in the front yard with Scott while I cheered them on.  Scott and I worked on building the planter boxes for the back deck and even the boys participated in staining the wood beams!

The boys have enjoyed building a house in the woods at the end of our street, but now that things are in full bloom, we've told them they can't go back there anymore because of poison ivy and/or ticks.  This was their last weekend and Evan showed us the living room with a couch and coffee table!

I started Sunday with a Target pick-up order that was so easy and I cleaned the upstairs.  Scott finished my planter boxes and we cemented the beams in!  The lights were strung and it was everything I hoped for!  Now we just need some flowers to plant in the boxes.

The school and work week kicked off again on Monday with 6 assignments on Seesaw and Google Classroom for the boys plus some optional activities from their specials teachers.

Sean had his first Zoom call with his class, although they weren't allowed to use video.  He enjoyed it, but he was very shy when it was his turns to talk.  He learned how to mute/unmute, chat, and raise his hand on the program.  Evan had a Zoom call with his den for the second time Thursday evening.  And we started our COVID-19 time capsule!

The weather started to really get nice mid-week so we made sure to do lots of time outside and bike rides.  We enjoyed our first visit to Dairy King to an ice cream treat after our schoolwork was done for the day!

Some favorite foods this week were strawberry shortcake and a beef and rice taco casserole that was used to make tacos and nachos a few times throughout the week as either lunch or dinner.

By Friday we were so ready to be done with work and school for the week.  Our morning was lazy watching Finding Dory and playing with filters on Instagram.  We spent the afternoon riding bikes and stopping by their cousins' house to visit Sydney and AJ from a distance outside.  Scott and I had a "date night" Friday night with a game of Rummikub (I was victorious...again!) and a drink out on the patio under our new twinkle lights.  It was a pretty good week!
