Easter Weekend

We kicked off Easter weekend by decorating eggs using our new spinning machine with markers I bought at Target.  I'd been eyeing it for a couple of years now and finally bought it.  The kids loved it!  I loved it!  There was no mess and the eggs turned out beautiful!  We had our neighbors, Shelley and Nevaeh over to color a few and then to hang out at our bonfire.

Saturday we did some food prep and cleaning to get ready for hosting everyone on Scott's side of the family over Sunday morning for brunch.  Then, we got ourselves put together for mass at 3:15pm at Northridge with Scott's parents.  The mass was beautiful and actually quite emotional as the message was about embracing death and looking forward to reuniting with loved ones and getting to meet Jesus.

After mass and the petting farm, we grabbed dinner at Hermann's and drinks at Bearded Lamb with Scott's parents before going home and having another unexpected bonfire with all the neighbor kids.  The kids put out carrots for the bunny and went to bed.  I got the baskets ready and Scott hid them.

In the morning the kids found their baskets easily, enjoyed opening and looking at all their loot, and then we got put together to host brunch for Scott's family.  It was a nice morning!  Everyone came over by 11am, including Mindy and the new baby, Nikola.  Scott his Nana's eggs in the backyard for all the grandkids to find and we did an egg hunt after eating.  People left by 1pm and we had the rest of the beautiful, sunny afternoon to clean up the house, sit outside and rest, and even go for a bike ride.  Scott and I grilled some steaks for dinner with baked potatoes.  It was a great day!  Wish my parents had been home to celebrate.

Happy Easter!
