Sean gave his 1st golf tournament a shot this past Saturday at Maples course in Novi. It was through TGA, where he's done golf camps a few summers in a row. It was 9 holes in foursomes with the age division of 12-15. There were 10 kids competing Saturday and he had Scott as his caddy, which was pretty cool to see!
I kept busy while they were golfing by going to a nature reserve down the road, an Italian bakery for some donuts, and I read on a park bench at a public beach on Walled Lake. Meanwhile, Sean was doing pretty good! I came back in time to watch him golf two holes nearby. Unfortunately, he had one rough hole while I was there that added some strokes to his score, but he redeemed himself by getting par on the last hole. He finished at 50 and ended in the middle of the group of 10. The kids that medaled finished 40, 45, and 46.
He was disappointed in that one hole that added to his score, but overall had a good time and said he'd do it again. He had a hot dog lunch, provided by the tournament, afterwards and we went home for a bit to relax. Late afternoon we went over to my parents' to swim at their pool for a while. It was a fun day!
