29 Weeks:
How far along? 29 weeks, 5 days in this picture. Time is slipping away!
Weight gain/loss: Staying right around 26 lbs. Doc says that's okay, but I'd prefer it not be that high. Until it's 8pm and the ice cream is calling my name...
Feeling: This heat needs to let up. For real. Even taking Sean somewhere in the morning to avoid the afternoon heat is back firing. Nothing like going to the zoo at 9:30am and dripping sweat before I even get inside the park.
Maternity clothes? Got this new shirt in my picture from Target for $9.99. I love that it's long because at this point in the pregnancy, even the maternity shirts are starting to show the bottom of my belly.
Sleep: My lower left side of my back bothers me at night and the only thing that's comfortable is sleeping on my back, which is a big no-no. So, needless to say, it's getting uncomfortable.
Food cravings: I'm kinda bummed, but I haven't been "craving" anything for weeks now. Kinda takes the fun out of being pregnant.
Movement? All the time. And it's always a wonderful thing. Although, baby boy found an interesting spot to jab me on the side and it almost tickles. It's a weird experience.
What I miss? Beer. Beer. Beer.
Best moment this week: Just taking Sean out and about every day. From Detroit Kid City to the zoo and park, we've had a great week and it's nice to keep busy while showing Sean new stuff.
What I'm looking forward to: The 4th of July next week and taking Sean to the parade here in Plymouth.
Next Appointment: Tuesday, July 10th at 9:50 am with Dr. Salem.
Milestones: Baby squash is weighing in at 2 and a half lbs. and is a little over 15 inches long right now. His muscles and lungs are continuing to mature, and his head is growing bigger to make room for his developing brain.
30 Weeks:
How far along? 30 weeks, 3 days in this picture. Pretty good considering the weekend we had...
Weight gain/loss: 28 lbs. Eeek!!! I guess I'm on par for just under 40 like last time.
Feeling: Completely and utterly exhausted. With Sean being sick starting Saturday and me running on little to no sleep, I'm feeling worn out. The anxiety from everything took a toll on me too. Last time I felt like that was when Sean was a newborn and I was completely petrified of bedtime.
Maternity clothes? They're getting challenging with the swelling in my ankles or the veins on my legs. I'd prefer to keep them covered up...so yoga pants and long cotton skirts seem to be my friend.
Sleep: Not much since Saturday, but we're getting back on track since Sean is feeling better today. I'm hoping for a normal night tonight.
Food cravings: Still...nothing. It's boring.
Movement? Since Sean has been kicking me in his fits this weekend while sick, I haven't had much time to notice movement like normal, but I'm sure baby Evan is doing just fine.
What I miss? Some time to myself. Better yet, some time with just Scott. We need a date night.
Best moment this week: Getting the nursery put together on Tuesday while Sean was at daycare. I put all the newborn and 0-3 month clothes, organized the diaper station, went out and bought a drapery rod, extra sound machine, nursing tank, and tons of baby essentials. It was a very productive day and now I'm feeling more prepared.
What I'm looking forward to: Our Chicago trip with Sean next week! It will be his first time flying and our last opportunity to get away before baby arrives.
Next Appointment: Thursday, July 26th at 10:50am with Dr. Long.
Milestones: Baby cabbage's eyesight continues to develop, though it's not very keen. Even after he's born, he'll keep his eyes closed for a good part of the day.
When he does open them, he'll respond to changes in light but will
have 20/400 vision — which means he can only make out objects a few
inches from his face.
Other exciting news this week from our appointment is that I have a scheduled c-section date should Evan decide not to come on his own. I'm really hoping for a VBAC, but if he doesn't arrive by Monday, September 10th, then he'll come via c-section. It's exciting to have an end date or an "eviction date" as I like to refer to it as...
