We love fall!

My absolute favorite time of the year.

The colors, the cool air, bonfires, sweatshirts and boots, cider and donuts, and Halloween!  We do up this season big every year kicking things off with Evan's birthday and labor day weekend.  We've been very blessed to have the time to go to several cider mills this season so far to really get in the mood of the season.  We've had a few bonfires, both at our house and out.  I've started all the fall cooking and we have decorated the house.

Meeting up with friends or family is always better when it's at the cider mill!  We ventured to Franklin Cider Mill back in September.  Their donuts were not our favorite, but the cider was good and I loved the extra things they had like delicious corn on the cob and balloon art!

Decorating the house with some new finds at Kirkland's made for some excitement in September.  The scarecrows are up in the park with lots of new ideas this season and the boys got "Boo'd" by one of our neighbors!

The boys and I painted pumpkins on a Sunday in October while Scott was watching the Lion's game.  Evan did his traditional Jack Skellington, while Sean and I opted to do Star Wars theme!

We hosted a bonfire at our house this past weekend with our neighbors on our street.  We let the kids make s'mores from 7-8pm and then did adults only after that.  We had a few people stick around to close to 2am!  Needless to say it was a slow moving Saturday morning...

I took some pictures of the boys one Sunday evening while it was still warm and the colors were starting to change on Hines Drive.  We had a fun time exploring through the woods and playing at one of our favorite play structures.  They're not perfect, but they're what we had the time and money for.

We have been enjoying the outdoors this fall with the cub scouts too!  Sean's den meeting had him learning to pitch a tent, cook over a fire, and make a barometer.  The whole pack meeting in October was at Three Cedars for a hayride, corn maze, and bonfire.  Each den sang a song around the campfire and they got to roast s'mores, eat donuts, and drink cider and hot cocoa.  It was a beautiful night for this event!

We are truly enjoying this season, despite how busy it always is.  I look back at these pictures already and think of how all the rushing and stressing was worth it to make memories like these!  Halloween is right around the corner and we've been busy celebrating that too.  This is such a fun time of year!
