November Recap

Whew...we are almost through December and I haven't even updated much on November.  To be honest, November slows way down for us and it's always very much needed at that point.  Although this year I had the added excitement of doing fall and holiday minis almost every weekend in November!  It was so much fun!

My mom and I went to the Enrique Iglesias, Pitbull, and Ricky Martin concert at LCA.  We had dinner at Mario's before hand and used their free shuttle to get to and from LCA.  My good friend, Kristen, and her mom came to the concert too.  It was a lot of fun and the music was good!

Evan started practicing with year 2 on the Patriots.  He has a few new teammates this year and we are looking forward to another fun season!

We had a girls' night to celebrate Jackie's birthday and to take her for a night out after she got some difficult news about AJ's health.

We put our tree up, the earliest we ever have and it was so worth it!

Sean got a belated birthday card in the mail from President Biden!

Niko was baptized and I took pictures for Matt and Mindy.  It was a very nice day and we went over to their house afterwards to watch the Lions game and have pizza and salad from Comparis.  Yum!

I took the boys to see Santa at a special even this year at St. Johns.  It was the Coca-cola Santa truck and Santa!  It was really cool!  We actually just happened to be in line behind one of Evan's classmates so it was fun chatting with them and helped pass the time.

We went to the Henry Ford Museum one more time before our membership expires during Thanksgiving break.  We really enjoyed the ornaments exhibit, seeing the big tree, and we even got in a movie on the big screen, although it wasn't our favorite.  We grabbed beers at Bearded Lamb and dinner at Hermann's after.

The boys started a speed and agility class at a local gym two nights a week to keep them moving and in shape in the off-season of some of their sports.  It's actually an awesome workout and they are a sweaty mess after.

And now we're counting down the days until Christmas break and Christmas!  I can't believe how fast time is going.  Trying to soak it all in these next few days.

Thanksgiving 2023

Man, did Thanksgiving and all of November fly by.  I feel like I just wrote the October recap and here we are in December counting down the days to Christmas break.

But, Happy Thanksgiving!

We kicked off Thanksgiving break by already having our tree set up.  It was so nice to have that done!  Scott did a major outdoor clean up and worked on lights outside.  The boys had our old neighbors over for some football out front and man, was Luna happy to see June!  We used our outdoor pizza oven for an early dinner and settled in to watch Planes, Trains, and Automobiles, per tradition.  This year we let the boys join us since it's only language for its rating.  I think they liked it!

Thanksgiving morning was relaxing.  We made cinnamon rolls, scrambled eggs, and bacon to hold us over until dinner.  I did the annual Peloton 45 minute Turkey Burn Ride.  We packed up and headed over to my parents around noon to watch the Lions game.  Unfortunately, they lost.  But, we enjoyed hanging out with family, snacking on appetizers, and waiting for the big meal.  We got some pictures outside.

Dinner was delicious, dessert was had, and we got home around 8pm stuffed and exhausted.

Friday we took the boys to the Henry Ford Museum in the afternoon for a visit.  We watched a short movie about sealife, but it was really boring.  Afterwards, we dropped the boys off at home to fend for themselves for dinner (neither of them wanted to go out) and Scott and I went to Hermann's in old downtown for dinner.  Surprisingly there was no wait!  We met up with Matt, Mindy, and their boys at Bearded Lamb for some beers before heading home.

The rest of the weekend was spent cleaning, organizing, and laying around enjoying a decorated house for the holidays.  Christmas movies and popcorn were had!  It was a productive and fun break!
