April and May Happenings

Believe it or not, we do other things than baseball.  It doesn't feel like it sometimes, but we do.

We celebrated spring birthdays at Mindy's house.

We also celebrated a good friend's 40th birthday in Rochester.  It was nice to catch up with old friends!

We celebrated Easter with baskets, mass, and dinner at my parents' house.

Evan got his 5th round of ear tubes the day after Easter.  The procedure went smoothly and he was home and recovering in no time!

Luna was happy to have June for a long weekend at our house.

Sean did a tour of PCEP, which just felt surreal the whole time.  How do we have a high schooler?

Perfect sunsets, forts in the woods by our house, a clean deck and patio furniture, and the start of Farmer's Markets.

We participated in the Ice Baseball golf outing.  Scott golfed with his parents and Mindy.  I volunteered on one of the holes with another mom from Evan's team.  It was a beautiful day!

Mother's Day came and went with a beautiful day at home! Flowers, home cooked dinner, and soap was how I spent my day.  Although, I was pretty under the weather and spent most of it on the couch.

Rained out league game gave us time to play card games at home.

Post-practice hang-outs with friends on the team.

Memorial Weekend at home because of baseball, but we did enjoy lunch on Whitmore Lake and flower shopping!

Post-game stop at Burger King where Evan requested a crown.

Desmond's daughter's grad party in Westland!

A bonfire and a frog sighting to kick off the last week of the school year.

Evan's Wounded Warrior Challenge Tournament

Another weekend, another tournament!  They had a USSSA tournament the previous weekend and lost all three of their games.  It was pretty brutal.  So, I think they were all hoping for some redemption with this one.  It was at Founder's and we played the Livonia Hawks - Morgan at 8:30am and won 6-4.  Evan went two for two at bat.  They then played Detroit Force at 10:15am and won 3-2.  Evan made some great plays in the outfield.

Sunday we played our last pool play game at 10:15am against the Novi Heat Gold 11U AAA team.  We started off pretty slow with our bats and our pitching struggled.  But, we made it close in the last two innings.  It wasn't enough though and we lost 5-4.  It was a big bummer since only four teams made it on to bracket play and we had a real shot at going further.  Oh well!

Next tournament is the long-awaited week-long trip to South Carolina for Shipyard World Series.  Let's go, Ice!
